TARRAGON

MC: Dream 1: I was acting in a play at Tarragon. Just got the part the day before. Director thrilled to have me because I had been compared favourably to Marcello Mastroianni. It wasn't as if someone dropped out, just a very short rehearsal period: one day.

I felt a little anxious but the director had faith in me. On the surface the play seemed a little drab, lacking in dramatic tension, a bit too Canadian. But underneath there was this rich, mysterious subtext—unlike anything that had ever been done before.  The others involved were not at all concerned about our limited rehearsal time. This was a voyage into art as the unknown. The performance would speak for itself.

Birdland by Weather Report on.   Creature flies through. Improvises to music. MC looks where Creature has just been three times then Creature goes upstage. Birdland continues and underscores next dream which MC launches into.
